At present, the standard parts in the injection mold processing industry are in great demand and widely used, and their materials are mostly made of low-carbon steel or low-carbon low-alloy steel by cold extrusion.

If the customer requires that the surface of the standard part of the injection mold has a certain layer of wear resistance, such as carburizing, quenching, tempering and other treatments can be carried out after the cold extrusion forming; For plastic mould formed by casting method, common aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, bronze and cast iron materials can be selected, which have good casting performance. Especially for silicon aluminum alloy and zinc base alloy, these two materials have low melting point and good fluidity of dissolved materials; For plastic molds formed by superplasticity method, eutectic alloy or eutectoid alloy should be selected as far as possible to obtain good plasticity. For alloys that can obtain extremely fine grains, they also have good superplasticity after grain refining treatment; For plastic molds formed by cutting or electric machining, the materials shall have good machinability, which can reduce the cost of material processing and shorten the manufacturing cycle. For electric machining, the materials shall also have good conductivity.

When plastic mold ABS, PVC and other plastic parts are required, the plastic will produce a corrosive gas at the molding temperature, so the parts in direct contact with the mold steel and the parts should have certain excellent corrosion resistance, such as martensitic stainless steel, age hardening stainless steel and 18Ni maraging steel, The surface treatment of chrome plating can also be carried out after processing with ordinary materials. When plastic parts with hard materials such as glass fiber or quartz powder are added to the molded plastic, the high hardness additives will reduce the fluidity of the plastic, resulting in serious wear on the surface of the mold. Therefore, mold steel that can be quenched into high hardness materials, such as TIOA, Crl2MoV, etc., is often used as the mold material for molding this type of plastic. If some steel with low carbon content is selected, the die steel shall be carburized and quenched again.
