Injection mould As a very important production tool for injection molding plants, it determines the shape, specification, size and appearance finish of products. The material of the mold is steel, which is generally composed of front mold and rear mold.


1. Mold protection


Due to the specificity, precision, vulnerability and other characteristics of the mold, the safety protection of the mold is very important. In general, there are the following aspects:


(1) Rust prevention: prevent the injection mold from rusting caused by water leakage, condensation, rain, fingerprints, etc;


(2) Anti collision: to prevent the mould from being damaged due to the fracture of the ejector pin and the failure to retreat in place;


(3) Deburring: to prevent mold burrs caused by cloth wiping, material punching, hand wiping, nozzle clamp collision, knife collision;


(4) Missing parts: prevent the mold from being damaged during use due to the lack of pull rod, washer and other parts;


(5) Anti pressure: prevent the die from being crushed due to the clamping of the die due to the residual products;


(6) Under pressure: to prevent damage caused by excessive low pressure protection pressure of the die.

Among them, more than 85% of the mold damage is caused by the fracture of the ejector pin, the failure of the ejector pin to fall back in place, the residual product in the mold, and the lack of auxiliary parts, which is more frequent. However, the mold maintenance costs are generally high. Therefore, how to avoid this kind of situation is directly related to the interests of the injection molding industry.


In order to prevent production delay and high maintenance costs caused by mold damage, and also to better save human resources, a company has developed a product called "mold protector" by using machine vision technology after continuous research and improvement.


Mold monitor, or mold protector, also known as mold electronic eye, can effectively protect expensive molds. Some mold experts said that the injection mold protection system, installed on the injection molding machine, can directly check whether the product is qualified, and check whether there is residue before mold closing to prevent mold clamping.


During the operation of the injection molding machine, in each cycle, expensive molds may be damaged due to plastic residues or dislocation of sliders. The mold protector can prevent these situations, automatically prevent mold closing in case of abnormalities, and give an alarm.


2. Mold maintenance


(1) When disassembling the mold, avoid bumping and watering, and move steadily;


(2) Spray hot mold, and then spray a small amount of release agent;


(3) The mould shall be comprehensively inspected, and rust prevention treatment shall be carried out. Carefully wipe the moisture and sundries in the cavity, core, ejection mechanism and line position, and spray the mould rust inhibitor and grease.


3. Mold maintenance


In the continuous working process of the mold, due to the wear of parts, lubricant deterioration, water leakage, plastic material crushing and other problems easily caused by the movement process, mold maintenance is required.


Mold maintenance is generally divided into daily maintenance and lower mold maintenance.


(1) The daily maintenance of molds generally includes the following aspects:


① Regular rust removal (appearance, PL surface, mold cavity, core, etc.);


② Regularly refill lubricant (ejection mechanism, travel position, etc.);


③ Replace easily worn parts (pull rod, bolt, etc.) regularly.


(2) For the lower mold maintenance of the mold, professional maintenance personnel shall remove the mold and conduct professional test and protection for the mold cavity, thimble, etc.
